Dutch cloth

DUTCH CLOTHS

The main applications for dutch cloths are filtration and extrusion. These cloths are characterised by triangular openings.
  • The opening representing the diameter of the largest bead that can pass through these triangles.
DESCRIPTION
A dutch cloth is defined by :
  • The weave type:
      •  warp rib: wires enclosed in the warp direction
      •  weft rep: wires enclosed in the weft direction
  • The weave pattern :
      • “plain” weave
      • “twill” weave
  • the opening
  • the centre distance between the wires
  • the diameters of the wires used
  • the characteristics of the material
For example : Plain dutch cloth, opening 355 µ average, centre distance 2.43 mm, wires 0.63/0.40 mm, stainless steel 304.

Note: An old method of description indicates the number of wires warpwise and weftwise in one 27.8 mm inch, together with the diameter of the wires warpwise and weftwise. Thus the cloth above would be described as no. 12 x 70 wire 0.63/0.40 mm.

 SPECIFICATIONS
  • very strong
  • great rigidity
  • resistance to abrasion
  • good porosity
  • easy to clean
  • regularity of the openings
In compliance with standard NFX11-515, they can be either plain or twilled.
  • Twilled dutch, comprising twice as many wires weftwise as plain dutch, is therefore
      • heavier,
      • more rigid,
      • stronger
      • less porous.
It allows filtrations of up to 5 µ to be obtained.
